Mission Statement

Clients are our number one priority. Without them, our firm has nothing. We will always be respectful and use the highest level of integrity in everything we do for them. Our firm will strive to meet the individual needs of our clients and work in a disciplined and efficient manner to meet their short and long term investment goals.

Ethical Standards

Sound ethical practices and principles are the bedrock that provides the foundation for our firm. Investment advisers are placed in a position of trust and owe a fiduciary duty to the public. This relationship demands that our actions be held to a higher standard and that we must always work to secure and maintain the public’s confidence.

To this end, our firm has adopted and strictly adheres to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct set forth by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Institute, formerly the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR®). These guidelines clearly delineate right from wrong, thus eliminating ‘gray areas’ that may arise by providing a strict reference point.

By possessing a codified and verifiable set of standards that explicitly deals with the issues confronted in the investment advisory business we prevent any erosion of the trust underpinning the relationship between our firm and its clients.

Portfolio Management,
Accounting, and Reporting

Our firm provides timely, accurate, and easy to digest client reports produced by Advent Software’s Axys® portfolio accounting and reporting system. This system is both flexible – over 70 standard reports are available – and powerful; it readily complies with the high standards and regulations set by the SEC and CFA Institute’s Performance Presentation Standards (PPS).

We work to communicate effectively and with absolute clarity with our clients at each stage of the investment process, from explaining our investment approach to reporting the results. We believe a transparent investment process coupled with an equally unequivocal reporting process builds confidence, trust, and safeguards the client relationship, our first priority.

Our Corporate Name

During the 14th and 15th centuries in Europe, the English Longbow changed the landscape of medieval warfare. In contrast to other weapons such as the sword, club, or spear that were relatively brutish and crude, the Longbow was an elegant, intelligent, and mercilessly effective weapon.

The Longbow’s true power, and why we have adopted it as a corporate symbol, was that it allowed its user to stand back from the chaotic, volatile situation before them, view it in its entirety, measure the distance to their target, and ultimately strike with a high degree of accuracy. We strive to emulate this approach.

Financial markets are unpredictable and at times even dangerous. Success rejects a haphazard, rough approach and embraces a well developed and disciplined long term strategy.
